This takes humble oatmeal and transforms it into a café-worthy dish with caramelized sugar on top.
Ingredients (serves 2):
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 2 cups milk (or milk alternative)
- 2 tbsp Gourmet Inspirations Gingerbread Cookie Syrup
- 1 ripe pear, thinly sliced
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
- 2 tbsp brown sugar (for brûlée topping)
- Garnish: toasted pecans or walnuts, drizzle of cream
Instructions:
- In a saucepan, combine oats, milk, gingerbread syrup, vanilla, and salt. Cook over medium heat until creamy (about 5–7 minutes).
- Stir in pear slices and cook for another 2 minutes until softened.
- Divide oatmeal into two heatproof ramekins or bowls.
- Sprinkle brown sugar evenly on top.
- Use a kitchen torch (or broil briefly in oven) to caramelize the sugar until crisp.
- Garnish with toasted nuts and a drizzle of cream.
