🥣 Fancy Breakfast: Gingerbread-Pear Oatmeal Brûlée

This takes humble oatmeal and transforms it into a café-worthy dish with caramelized sugar on top.

Ingredients (serves 2):

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 2 cups milk (or milk alternative)
  • 2 tbsp Gourmet Inspirations Gingerbread Cookie Syrup
  • 1 ripe pear, thinly sliced
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar (for brûlée topping)
  • Garnish: toasted pecans or walnuts, drizzle of cream

Instructions:

  1. In a saucepan, combine oats, milk, gingerbread syrup, vanilla, and salt. Cook over medium heat until creamy (about 5–7 minutes).
  2. Stir in pear slices and cook for another 2 minutes until softened.
  3. Divide oatmeal into two heatproof ramekins or bowls.
  4. Sprinkle brown sugar evenly on top.
  5. Use a kitchen torch (or broil briefly in oven) to caramelize the sugar until crisp.
  6. Garnish with toasted nuts and a drizzle of cream.

Result: A cozy, spiced oatmeal with a crackly brûlée top — indulgent but still wholesome.
